Life on Campus Being religious and conservative at an Ivy League school these days is about as common as an intelligent thought by Paris Hilton, so it can be rough for them on extremely liberal college campuses. All week on the TV show Glenn is focusing on what life is like today for kids on campus---and with all the promiscuity, drinking and partying it can be quite shocking. Glenn talked about life on campus for an hour today. University of Princeton student Jonathan Hwang talks about what life is like for a religious conservative on a campus filled with liberal elite in this special to the Glenn Beck newsletter: Read it here. Obama's VP choice is... Word on the street is that Barack Obama has picked his Vice President and will announce in the next day or two. Glenn looks to Intrade to find out where people are putting their money---so far Joe Biden is leading the way. Glenn runs down the list of wannabe candidates on today's program and in the spirit of the Fairness Doctrine (which is likely to come back) has a dissenting voice to counter all of his choices. Read the transcript. Olympic sex appeal Glenn wonders if anyone else has noticed the Maxim Magazine esque clothing (or lack of clothing) the women have been wearing at the Beijing Olympics. The women's beach volleyball team may as well be naked while the men are almost wearing slacks. Is this a scheme by NBC and the athletes to boost ratings? Or is it just a tip of the hat to the original Olympic athletes, who played the game naked? Glenn tries his best to make every Olympic athlete hate him in this monologue... Read the transcript. Arguments against Idiots Why do rich people hate poor people so much? Why do they fight plans for higher taxes? Don't they know that poor people are suffering? These are questions idiots ask often, and the answers that will hopefully help your idiot friend understand why higher taxes do not help poor people in the least are all part of today's Arguments against Idiots. Get the winning arguments here.

Recycling Overrated Steven Moore talks about his piece in the Wall Street Journal that took on the mother of all green topics: recycling. Could it be that recycling is overrated? Steven thinks so and argues why, plus, he talks about how in Seattle they have started putting green tags on garbage cans of homeowners who don't recycle. Nothing like pressuring people into conformity. Plus, if we could turn Ted Turner's Montana land into a landfill, how long would we be able to put 100% of America's trash into his land? The answer to that and much more in Glenn's conversation with Steve Moore from the Wall Street Journal. Read the transcript. Nancy Pelosi solves energy crisis Glenn talks to an official Obama advisor who says that Nancy Pelosi is directly responsible for the recent drop in gas prices. The advisor, Honkey Whitesville, argues that Pelosi put her own interests behind her in an amazingly selfless manner in order for the good of Americans everywhere. Find out what she allegedly did: Read the transcript. Obama 'I'll win, don't worry about that' Has any presidential candidate ever sounded so cocky about a victory in the past? Obama said at a fundraising event to the donors 'don't worry, I'll win'. At first glance, that seems cocky---but he was clearly just trying to calm possible jitters in the audience. All 1300 grassroots, regular, everyday Americans who happen to be Obama supporters and shelled out a mere $6000 each to be there, obviously wanted assurance their investment would pay off. Read the transcript. Vacation Hypocrisy Maureen Dowd wrote another crappy column this week making the horrible point that Bush has been 'kicking back' at his ranch while Russia invades Georgia. She complains ad nauseam about the vacationing Bush---but tends not to mention a certain political party who is on vacation in the middle of an energy crisis. Read the transcript. Arguments Against Idiots In today's installment of Arguments Against Idiots, Glenn presents the counter-points you need when your idiot friend starts saying things like: 'We need the Fairness Doctrine so that both sides of the issues can be heard on the radio again!'. Be prepared to respond, get the winning arguments here.

Eater X Glenn gets producer Dan some much needed help to reach the food goal of eating the same amount Olympic superstar swimmer Michael Phelps eats in one day (10-12,000 calories). He started this a.m. at 6300 calories, after a disappointing dinner performance. Dan had to reach 10,000 calories by show's end. Tim Janus, aka Eater X on the food competition circuit, who finished 3rd in the Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest, gave Dan some advice and here is what he had to say about Phelps' diet and about Dan's chances of reaching the goal. Read the transcript. Georgia CNN column The situation between Georgia and Russia is not getting better and most Americans don't understand the truth behind Georgia's pro United States democracy. Imagine a mini-United States located inside the former Soviet Union. Vladimir Putin loves probably loves that thought. It's the subject of Glenn's latest column for CNN, which you can read here. Arguments against Idiots Surely the idiot in your life has blurted out this doozy at some point 'what's up with all the name calling on Barack Obama! How low can you conservatives go?'. Glenn argues this and more in today's installment of Arguments against Idiots. Get the winning arguments here.

"This is for America" Last night on TV Glenn interviewed Georgia President Mikheil SaakasHhvili and it was quite gripping to see a world leader do a TV interview outside. He's clearly a target of the Russian's and so are America's ideals, according to him. Glenn plays back a couple of key quotes from the President that will put things into perspective. Read the transcript. Watch the video here. Compean & Ramos part Deux Another incident strikingly similar to the Compean & Ramos case has come up where a border agent shot Edgar Israel Ortega in his left buttocks and, you will be so relieved to hear, he is in stable condition. The shooter was a ten year border patrol veteran but his name was not released. Border patrol said the agent feared getting struck by a rock but the shooting drew swift criticism from Mexican authorities. Glenn tries to determine how many years in the slammer this border agent will get---given what they did to Compean and Ramos. Read the transcript. Arguments against Idiots Fittingly, given the border shooting, today's edition is also on the border. Specifically, the age old question: 'what do we do with the 20 million illegal aliens?'. Surely you have heard someone say 'it's just not practical to deport 20 million illegals' or 'our economy won't be able to handle the sudden loss of workers'. The winning arguments are what you will find in today's Arguments Against Idiots. Read the winning arguments here. No Calorie Left Behind Inspired by Michael Phelps' incredible diet of 12,000 calories per day, Glenn's producer Dan attempted to eat as many calories as he could during the three hour program. Eating throughout the program, and under a China-esque 'you will be fired if you don't eat 10,000 calories' threat from Glenn, Dan chowed down. How'd he do? Find out: read the transcript.

Media Bias A constant fear in the back of every radio broadcasters mind is the return of the fairness doctrine. This is of course the doctrine that says, basically, anytime someone on radio says 'Barack Obama is so far past liberal in fact he is a Marxist' it has to be countered with someone else saying 'actually, Mr. Obama is the savior of the universe'. Originally given a name so 'fair' sounding so that everyone would agree with it, Glenn thinks that if it does come back Democrats will have to come up with another name for it--one so patriotic that it's impossible to disagree with. Read the transcript here. China boots kid Thought the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics were spectacular? So did Glenn, but the shine quickly wore off when a story about what happened to the little girl who sang the national anthem for China at the ceremonies. The girl, 7 year old Yang Peiyi, was deemed 'not attractive' enough to be seen on worldwide television. China, not caring about this little girl one bit, told her she was 'too chubby' to be seen. Read the transcript here. ALSO: Michael Phelps is winning gold medals like they are going out of style, but how does he do it? By eating over 10,000 calories per day. On tomorrow's program Glenn's producer Dan will attempt to eat gold medal caliber amounts of food. How much can he down? Vote on how much you think Dan will be able to eat in this poll. Arguments against Idiots Obama's experience. He doesn't have any, but that doesn't stop the Obama-zealots from jumping to his defense with wonderful points like: 'Yeah well, Obama is a Washington outsider, which is exactly what we need right now' 'Barack Obama is one of the great communicators of our time, he's a brilliant speaker who can fire up a crowd' 'He'll bring change, and anything is better than Bush, right?' Read the ammo Glenn provides to stop the Obama-head in your life from spouting those annoying claims---at least within earshot of you. You could also start with forwarding them this link, of an elected democrat politician who was going on the Chris Matthews program to talk about how great Obama is, when Chris Matthews asked the difficult question 'name one thing he's done'. The answer is interesting and should tell you a lot about the Obama campaign. It's all in today's Arguments against Idiots. Media misses Obama Many reporters in the mainstream media seem to be suddenly sullen without their savior for change and hope, who is off vacationing in Hawaii. Stu reports live plus Glenn also talks about the upcoming coverage he has planned for the Democratic National Convention, coverage that may or may not include putting the homeless people (that the democrats shipped off to the zoo's for the day) back on a bus that is headed straight for the convention. The hypocrisy is second to nonelet's campaign about helping the poor, but then buy them bus tickets and zoo tickets so they are not seen outside the convention in Denver. Read the transcript here. ***Completely unrelated to the previous story fact: Denver has been under Democrat leadership for at least the past 25 years, yet homeless problem still raging out of control.
